NISC Databases Transitioning to EBSCOhost Research Platform
NISC USA resources have been purchased by EBSCO and will be transitioning to the EBSCOhost Research platform on April 17, 2009.
Springer Electronic Book Package
The UC campuses have recently obtained perpetual access to nearly every Springer ebook published in English and German from 2005 to 2009, including Landolt-Bornstein, the largest compilation of data in physics and chemistry.
New Licensed Resources: Blackwell Compass; AGU’s Digital Library
UC campuses now have access to Blackwell Compass and AGU's Digital Library as part of CDL consortial licenses.
CDL's Recently Acquired Scholarly Content in 2008
Every year CDL purchases perpetual rights to scholarly digital content using end-of-year funds. This growing collection of content provides permanent digital rights on behalf of future generations of UC faculty and students in varied disciplines across the sciences and humanities.
New Resources – C19: The Nineteenth Century Index and Karger Online Journals
UC campuses now have access to C19: The Nineteenth Century Index and Karger Online Journals as part of CDL consortial licenses.
Upcoming Platform and Database Changes
On July 1, 2008, Blackwell Publishing will merge with John Wiley and Sons; all Wiley-Blackwell's online products will be combined onto a single Wiley InterScience platform. Additionally, EBSCO's Academic Search Complete will replace Gale's Expanded Academic ASAP database.

As part of the 2008 contract renewal for the Blackwell online journals, 213 titles have been added to the CDL's license. These include the titles in Blackwell's 2008 Full Collection model not previously licensed plus 22 recommended titles excluded from the Full Collection.
Additional EBSCO Databases
Due to the recent licensing of EBSCO's Academic Search Complete, the UC libraries have received free access to several additional EBSCO databases. The new titles (in addition to Academic Search Complete) are available now, and can be accessed from the EBSCO dropdown menu.
Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins: Newly Licensed Title for 2008
As part of the 2008 renewal process for the LWW online journals, Journal of Investigative Medicine has been added to the CDL's agreement with Ovid.
