Systemwide ILS (SILS)
The Systemwide ILS (SILS) is a centralized library management and discovery system – powered by Ex Libris’ Alma / Primo VE software – that unites the collections and digital resources for the entire UC system. The SILS brings together all ten UC campus libraries, the California Digital Library, and two regional storage facilities into one system. The UC Libraries benefit through newly streamlined workflows and greater collaboration between campuses in collections management.

Staff: follow the SILS wiki for detailed technical information, policies, and processes.
UC Library Search
UC Library Search is the primary discovery service for the collections of the UC Libraries. The users of UC Libraries benefit from a centralized location to search and browse UC Libraries’ materials as well as materials held outside the UCs. UC Library Search users can find, request and manage materials through their UC Library Search account.

The Operations Center has dedicated staff to manage the SILS service for UC, including liaising with our Ex Libris vendor representatives, performing routine system maintenance, and providing systemwide coordination support, all done in partnership with the SILS shared governance structure.
