UC Image Service News: ARTstor and CDL visit UC Campuses in October

A demonstration highlighting the major features of ARTstor collections, tools, and services for a mixed audience of faculty and library staff is planned for all UC campuses.  Megan Marler of ARTstor will lead the demonstration.  Lena Zentall from CDL will be available to discuss the Image Service and UC Shared Images.

UC-OCLC Pilot: Great Minds at Work

UC task groups and joint UC-OCLC workgroups have continued their inquiry and exploration and formed thoughtful, well reasoned recommendations aimed at creating an enhanced Next Generation Melvyl Pilot, supported by the WorldCat Local Service.

Appointment of New CDL Shared Print Manager

The CDL is delighted to announce that Emily Stambaugh has accepted an appointment as Manager of Shared Print beginning November 1st, 2007.

Resource Liaisons Program Update

Bob Heyer-Gray (UCD) recently undertook a part-time appointment as Interim Resource Liaison Coordinator at the CDL through August 2007. The CDL has had to release Bob to take up his new role as LAUC President. Beginning immediately, please contact Wendy Parfrey for questions and assistance with Resource Liaison-related matters.

Telnet Melvyl Retired

The Telnet version of the Melvyl Catalog was retired on August 31, 2007. Users who desire the flexibility of command line searching can use the Command Search feature available on the web version of the Melvyl Catalog.

The latest information on the status of the Next Generation Melvyl Catalog, supported by the WorldCat Local Service, includes new task group charges, reports, etc.
