Digital Preservation Community

2025 NDSA DigiPres Conference CFP

The National Digital Stewardship Alliance (NDSA) invites proposals for its annual conference, Digital Preservation 2025: Where We’re At (Digital Preservation in Uncertain Times). This virtual event will take place October 9-10, 2025. The deadline to submit proposals is July 7, 2025. More information about the conference is available on the Digital Preservation conference website. Submissions are welcomed from members and non-members alike.

What We’re Working On

One of our semi annual practices is scan all of Merritt’s holdings in the cloud to detect any inconsistencies between the system’s central Inventory database and individual object storage keys (file locations). Scanning a single cloud storage node can result in checking over 65 million files. And while a scan for a storage provider may take a few days to complete, it’s still fascinating (to me) that so many checks can take place in such little time. Once all scans are complete, the team meets to review and correct any outstanding issues with individual keys and their associated objects.
