New white paper on content Authenticity and Provenance in the larger Government, Library, Archives and Museum

Authors from the C2PA G+LAM working group, as coordinated by staff at the Library of Congress, released a new white paper regarding content provenance and authenticity titled, “Content Authenticity and Provenance in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: A Call-to-Action for the LAMs Community.” It highlights challenges and opportunities for the larger G+LAM community pertaining to trust in archives and archival content while (especially generative) AI changes our landscape.

What We’re Working On

Merritt’s user interface web application has now moved to using containers! The system will now automatically increase increase the number of containers being used if the repository’s UI is under heavy load, and then decrease the container count after traffic calms down. This autoscaling is keyed off of specific metrics, which are (and will be) established for each service depending on the type of work it does. We are now working to containerize LDAP, our user entity service and will follow with Merritt’s fixity checking service (Audit).
