New Collections added and activated:

  • Fire Insurance Maps Online (FIMO): has been cataloged and activated. Available to UCB, UCD, UCI, UCM, UCR, UCSB, UCSC, and UCSD. Please read the CDL announcement for details about this resource.
  • Oxford Bibliographies Online (OBO): has been cataloged and activated. Available to all UC campuses. Please see the CDL announcement for details.
  • Three Chinese Newspaper Databases at CNBKSY: the following three newspaper databases provided by the Shanghai Library have been cataloged. Available to UCB, UCI, UCLA, and UCSD. For details, please read the CDL announcement.
    • The China Times (時事新報)  1911~1949
    • The National Herald (神州日報)  1907~1946
    • Sheng-ching Shih-pao (盛京時報) 1906~1944
  • Scientific.Net series: with a recent review, CDL ERT has activated Community Zone collections for titles in the following two series:
    • Scientific.net Construction Technologies and Architecture
    • Scientific.net Engineering Headway

Recent Transitions

  • OECD iLibrary and the World Bank eLibrary content have flipped to open access. CDL ERT members continue to monitor the changes to the sites & review the Alma collections for updates.
  • Artstor has migrated to the main JSTOR.org platform and CDL ERT has been working to review & update the collection used in the NZ to switch over to linking to the main JSTOR site.
  • Proquest History Vault resources are now accessible at the main Proquest platform. CDL ERT staff will begin reviewing updates for the 60+ collections used in the NZ.

Highlights on Open Access

  • With the recent changes to Artstor, CDL has added and activated the following two collections:
    • An activated CZ collection: Artstor Open Access on JSTOR. Collection ID: 61566426760006531
    • A locally created collection: Political Americana collection. Collection ID: 61563646620006531 This is the Susan H. Douglas Collection of Political Americana of Cornell University, includes approximately 5,500 items of American political campaign memorabilia and commemorative items dating to between 1789 and 1960
  • OA Journals requested by campuses has been cataloged

Highlights on Other Activities:

  • New and continuing resources: CDL centrally funded new and continuing resources in Fiscal year 2023/2024 have been announced. CDL ERT members have begun processing these new resources.
  • JSTOR DDA: the management of the UC JSTOR DDA will transition to GOBI, scheduled for Monday, July 29, 2024. A 24-hour access downtime is expected on July 29. Several CDL ERT members have been working very closely with GOBI representatives to ensure this transition goes smoothly. CDL will send out updates regarding this transition.
  • Cambridge University Press’s cybersecurity incident: SCP learned from GOBI that the recent Cambridge University Press’s cybersecurity incident is affecting record provision by Cambridge, causing delay for SCP receiving records of Cambridge eBook.
