Education Research Index
ProQuest has released a new free database called Education Research Index, which is available to all UC campuses. Education Research Index includes ERIC + a new Supplemental Education Index, and users can search them together or separately at ProQuest. UC users already have access to ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) at ProQuest. Clarivate, the parent company of ProQuest, has stated that the creation of the Education Research Index with the new Supplemental Education Index is in response to the possible reduction in the number of titles covered in ERIC, and the Supplement will act as a backup for access to indexed content, as Clarivate attempts to fill gaps for reduced titles in ERIC. ERIC is sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Department of Education.
The new Supplemental Education Index within ProQuest is described as: an ideal complement to ERIC, allowing researchers and students additional coverage of education literature. It primarily includes scholarly journals, all of which are indexed with the ERIC vocabulary. Combined with ERIC, it is a powerful tool for education research.
