American Society for Microbiology journals

The University of California system has a new multiyear (2025-2027) systemwide agreement with The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) for their All-Inclusive Journals Package. Access to this package is included for all 10 UC campuses, including LBL. The UC campuses previously subscribed individually to ASM journals, and the agreement and access will now be administered centrally by CDL. Beginning in 2025, ASM has launched a new subscribe-to-open (S2O) program for their six primary research journals, with issues made open that year if funding targets are met. Per ASM, for any titles that are not already fully OA, all journal articles will become open after a one-year embargo period, including subscription and S2O titles.

The All-Inclusive Package includes:

Subscribe-to-open titles

  • Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy
  • Applied and Environmental Microbiology
  • Infection and Immunity
  • Journal of Bacteriology
  • Journal of Clinical Microbiology
  • Journal of Virology

Review Journals / Subscription titles

  • Clinical Microbiology Reviews
  • EcoSal Plus
  • Microbiology and Molecular Biology Reviews

Fully open access titles
