Package changes (January 2025)
Global Financial Data changes
Global Financial Data, Inc. will officially become Finaeon, Inc. on January 1, 2025. Eight UC campuses subscribe to Global Financial Data database: (Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, LA, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz). Users will see a new logo on the platform for Finaeon.
The URL for this database changed from https://finaeon.globalfinancialdata.com/ to https://app.finaeon.com/ on January 1, 2025. Both URLs will continue to work throughout January, and per the vendor, at the end of January the old URL will begin redirecting to the new URL for the foreseeable future.
Any personal user accounts at Global Financial Data will migrate smoothly to the Finaeon platform with no loss of data. While no major platform changes are happening in January, several enhancements were made to the platform recently in October 2024:
- Enhanced User Interface: The new Finaeon website offers a more friendly and intuitive interface, making your navigation smoother and more enjoyable.
- Improved Search Feature: Find the data you need faster with our advanced search capabilities.
- Advanced Sorting Options: Easily browse and sort through databases with our new and improved sorting options.
- Copy/Paste Feature for AutoTrac Workbook: Simplify your workflow with our new copy/paste functionality for the AutoTrac Workbook.
- User-Friendly Financial Tools Section: Access and utilize financial tools with ease in our revamped tools section.
- CAPE Ratio Comparison Feature: Utilize the new comparison feature within the CAPE Ratio to enhance your analysis.
- Build Custom Indexes: Create custom indexes with your choice of stocks to better suit your specific needs.

Knovel package changes
Seven UC campuses subscribe to Knovel ebooks as part of a Tier 2 (Berkeley, Irvine, San Diego, LA, Santa Barbara, Riverside, and Merced). With the 2025 renewal, the Tier 2 campuses have opted to change the subscription coverage to focus on the most used collections, and will renew with these packages of books at Knovel:

- Computer Hardware Engineering
- Electronics & Semiconductors
- General Engineering & Project Management

Additionally, these campuses that subscribe to Knovel books will continue to have access to the ASM International Handbooks at the Knovel platform.

University of California Press journals backfile access
The University of California subscribes to the University of California Press journal collection, with access for all UC campuses. UC Press has reconfigured their journal package offerings, and with our Jan 1, 2025 renewal, our users now gain access to the deep backfile coverage courtesy as part of our current subscription access. The new “UC Press Complete Package” now offers journal backfile access back to 1884 (over 2,700 issues), when access previously went back to the 2000s. CDL staff are working to update the journal coverage in the catalog.

BMJ package expansion + archive purchase
The UC campuses subscribe to a package of BMJ journals, with access for all campuses + LBL. With our January renewal, this package has approximately 10 additional titles added to it, under the configuration of the “BMJ Collection + The BMJ.”
New titles added to the package include:

- BMJ Leader
- BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care
- Considerations in Medicine
- Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin
- European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy
- BMJ Military Health
- Medical Humanities
- Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine
- BMJ Immunology (approved for inclusion – coming soon to the BMJ platform!)
In addition to the expanded package, UC has purchased the BMJ archive with perpetual access, which consists of all issues from Volume 1 through 2005. The archive purchase includes the titles in our BMJ Collection, the Annals of Rheumatic Diseases (ARD) and The BMJ.
