CDL Welcomes CLIR/DLF Postdoctoral Fellow John Kratz

CDL is pleased to welcome John Kratz as a CLIR/DLF Postdoctoral Fellow in Data Curation for the Sciences and Social Sciences.  John earned his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Columbia University.

During his two-year fellowship, he will focus on data publication, including its potential value as a scholarly endeavor that contributes to data sharing, reuse, and preservation. He will conduct an analysis of existing data publication initiatives, investigate the role of University of California (UC) libraries in the data publication space, and explore the potential for applying altmetrics to a UC data publication service, among other responsibilities.  At CDL, he will work closely with the UC Curation Center (UC3) and with the Publishing and Access group.
