Meet Rob Valentine
In its 2011 review, CDL was explicitly encouraged to “aggressively pursue external funding as a mechanism to fund the innovation and the delivery of more robust services to faculty and students” and to “expand fee-for-service offerings to external/ Non –UC entities.”
In response to this call to action, CDL hired Robert Valentine, Marketing/Communications Strategist, who joined CDL on January 3, 2012. He is funded by a vacant eScholarship position that was repurposed for a CDL-wide marketing/communications position. Rob will also participate in the development of a CDL communication plan.
Rob comes to us from recent stints as Director of Marketing and Communications at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) and Director of Marketing at John F. Kennedy University. He also served as Manager of Creative Services for UC Berkeley Extension in the 90’s, so arrives armed with previous University of California experience.
The interview committee was particularly impressed with Rob’s recruitment campaign for JFK’s School of Law which included a series of compelling (and successful) ads in Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stations.
Rob’s outside interests include sailing, gardening, and hiking.
Please join us in welcoming Rob to CDL.
