New Licensed Resources – BBIH, Duxiu, Morgan & Claypool, TBRC

UC campuses now have access to these electronic resources as part of CDL consortial or Tier 2 licenses.  (Some campuses may already have had access to these titles through previous local campus subscriptions.):

Bibliography of British and Irish History (All campuses except Santa Cruz, on the Brepolis platform; http://uclibs.org/PID/162567)

Lists books, articles in books, articles in some 700 journals; covers historical writing dealing with the British Isles, and with the British Empire and Commonwealth, during all periods for which written documentation is available – from 55BC to the present. It is the successor to the Royal Historical Society Bibliography of British and Irish History, available online from 2002 to 2009. Duxiu Knowledge Search Database (Berkeley, Irvine, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Diego, on the Duxiu platform; http://uclibs.org/PID/156553)

The Duxiu database provides access to more than 3 million Chinese bibliographic entries and 2 million full text scholarly resources in all subjects and formats, such as books, journal articles, conference papers and video clips. Duxiu covers Chinese publications from the early the 1930s to the present. New contents are added monthly. End users receive contents through online requests. Contents are delivered electronically to end users’ specified email account within 2 hours. Please note that depending upon different publications’ copyright restrictions, not all resources found in Duxiu have the same level of content access. For instance, the preview of chapters, table of contents and contents may vary from title to title.

Morgan and Claypool Collection 3 & 4 (Adding Santa Cruz to Collection 3; Collection 4: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Cruz on the Synthesis platform; http://uclibs.org/PID/126818)

A collection of over 475 ebooks, 50- to 100-pages long, in the form of “lectures” that each synthesize an important research or development topic, authored by a prominent contributor to the field. They are ideal entry points to new areas for researchers, advanced developers, and students.

  • Collection 3 — 125 new lectures published late 2009 through 2010
  • Collection 4 — 125 new lectures to begin delivery in January, 2011

Tibetan Buddhist Resource Center (TBRC) Digital Library (All campuses, on the TBRC platform; http://uclibs.org/PID/159590)

The Tibetan Buddhist Resource Center is dedicated to the preservation, organization and dissemination of Tibetan literature. Includes digital Tibetan texts; searchable database of people, places, and teachings.
