New Collections added and activated
Frontier Life: Borderlands, Settlement and Colonial Encounters – a new purchase from Alexander Street Press has been added to the NZ for campuses that did not already own this locally.
IET 2026 ebooks has been activated for participating campuses
CDL continues to process new resources from the end of year purchasing, including new modules from Oxford Bibliographies and Oxford Research Encyclopedias, and 2026 Oxford Handbooks Online.
Highlights on Open Access
UCSB requested Google Scholar and it was activated.
UCSD requested Torrossa Open Access ejournals and it was activated.
Highlights on other activities
Women and Social Movements in the United States since 1600: the UCs own this collection from Alexander Street Press and over the years, several update collections have been purchased systemwide (2020-2024 updates). CDL has worked with Ex Libris to fix issues identified with the CZ collections for the updates and were recently able to activate them for additional title level access.
Cancellations:
The RLG Reference Resource package was cancelled systemwide, with access ending 6/30/26. These collections were removed from the NZ. See CDLinfo article for more information.
The Tier 2 for Zhenben, a Chinese database, was formally cancelled for all participating campuses and this collection was removed from the NZ. Campuses can reach out to the Tier 2 Coordinator, Susan Xue at UC Berkeley, with any questions.
The Tier 2 for Yomidasu Rekishikan + Showa no chiikiban was formally cancelled as well by all participating campuses, and removed from the NZ. This is a Japanese newspaper database, led by Tier 2 Coordinator Tomoko Bialock at UCLA.
