Melvyl Central Index Update – Additional Changes in July 2013

In early June, CDL reported that staff had completed the biannual analysis for potential changes to the Melvyl Central Index configuration targeted for July 2013, and that while OCLC had added databases to the Central Index in the past six months, there were no CDL managed licenses with all 10 campuses participating for any of these databases.  Late in June, however, OCLC added and deleted additional databases which the UC libraries license.  CDL has now added the following databases to Melvyl’s Central Index:

  • NewsBank – Early American Imprints Series I – Evans (1639-1800)
  • NewsBank – Early American Imprints Series II – Shaw-Shoemaker (1801-1819)
  • Oxford University Press Journals

The following databases have been removed:

  • OCLC – World Almanac
  • Berkeley Electronic Press (bepress)
  • INSPEC

The next round of changes will occur in January 2014.
