ILL VDX Transition

VDX, part of the backend of UC’s Request interlibrary borrowing and lending service, moved from being hosted at CDL to OCLC over the weekend of July 13 -15.  The move went smoothly, with only the usual minor glitches that occur with a move of this magnitude.  The success is due in large part to the involvement of the campus ILL community in testing and providing valuable feedback as the project unfolded, working closely with CDL’s Discovery & Delivery team and OCLC throughout the process.

CDL is continuing to monitor all issues that resulted from this transition and is in ongoing contact with campus ILL units.

As a result of the move, UC will be well positioned to work with OCLC on software upgrades and on implementing a new software solution when VDX is retired in 3-5 years.
