Planning a deselection project between June 2026 and May 2027? Join the WEST Consulting Services Pilot!

We are very excited to announce that this year, WEST will be engaging in a consulting services pilot aimed at offering support to WEST member institutions currently undergoing, or planning, a deselection project! Below we’ve included key details to help you decide if your institution is interested in this opportunity. You can also find this information on our new WEST Consulting Services Pilot webpage.

What Would Participation in the Pilot Entail?

Pilot participants will be invited to two one-hour zoom meetings. It might look a little different for each institution, but we anticipate that at the first zoom meeting, participants will work with the WEST Analyst to define deselection criteria based on the specific needs / circumstances of their deselection project. The WEST Analyst will then use the criteria to create On Demand Comparison or Analytics Report(s) as appropriate. The WEST Analyst will also filter and analyze the output reports to create actionable deselection lists as desired by the institution. After the reports are generated, pilot participants will meet for a second zoom meeting, during which participants will go over the created deselection lists with the WEST Analyst to discuss any further refinement or questions. 

What is the Timing of this Pilot? 

The WEST Consulting Services Pilot will run for one year (June 2026 – May 2027), after which point the WEST Operations and Collections Council will assess outcomes and determine the next steps. 

Who Can Participate? 

Any WEST Member who is currently engaged in or planning a deselection project is a good candidate for the pilot. To better ensure sustainability, participation will be limited to 6 members during the pilot year. Sign-ups are first come first serve. If more than 6 institutions wish to participate, the WEST Analyst will keep track of additional participants for future iterations of the pilot. 

Please be aware, expressing interest in participation does not mean you need to be ready to participate at the moment you express interest. The WEST Analyst will work with participants to schedule their participation in line with the needs of their deselection project.
