Celebrating WEST Member Contributions to Community Documentation – Extracting Holdings Records from Alma

One of WEST’s biggest strengths is our member community and the work we do wouldn’t be possible without the many contributions of our WEST members. 

As the WEST Cycle 14 disclosure period comes to a close, WEST would like to take time to acknowledge the invaluable efforts made by our members to create documentation supporting Alma users with extracting holdings records from Alma. 

We now have three new resources to support Alma users in creating workflows to extract holdings records from Alma:

• ALMA Holdings Extraction Using MARCEdit for WEST Members created by Ramirose Attebury at University of Idaho
• Outputting WEST MARC Holdings with an ALMA Local Publishing Profile created by Ryan Finnerty at University of California San Diego
• WEST Holdings Disclosure API Workflow using BASH (for Alma Institutions) created by Nicholas Schockmel at University of Washington

Our hope is that these three documents will provide guidance for WEST Alma users across a variety of skill sets.
