Announcing the new SLF FAQ, shared on behalf of the Systemwide Library Facilities Board (SLFB)

The following update is being distributed to UC Libraries employees through various communication channels, including campus and CDL newsletters, listservs and other mechanisms.

The UC Libraries are shifting operational and strategic oversight of our regional library facilities to support their transition to becoming fully systemwide service centers. This change builds on the existing “one RLF, two locations” ethos and work practices; and our experts at both facilities already collaborate and partner closely. Moving forward, the two facilities will be referred to as the Systemwide Library Facilities (SLFs, or SLF-North and SLF-South respectively) and UC Berkeley will serve as the administrative host for the SLF service.

These changes raise questions for many of us, both about immediate practice and the future. To help answer these questions, the Systemwide Library Facilities Board (SLFB) has launched a new SLF frequently asked questions (FAQs) webpage. If you have additional questions or comments to help SLFB expand the SLF FAQ, please feel free to complete this linked form.
