Recent Transitions

  • The W. B. Yeats Collection: changing platform from Chadwyck-Healey to ProQuest
  • World Bank eLibrary has discontinued and moved to open access platforms. ERT is in process reviewing existing collections and preparing for the transition.

Highlights on Open Access

  • Proposal to add a request form for OA individual monographs: In collaboration with ERT team members, SCP has drafted a new request form for adding campuses cataloged individual open access monographs. SCP has sent the draft request form to SCP-AC for UC campus review and input. SCP-AC members are happy to see the collaboration between campuses and SCP for getting OA individual monographs into Alma Network Zone. SCP has received feedback and questions from campuses regarding the form and workflow, and we are in the process of incorporating some changes for the request form accordingly and preparing a document to clarify the collaborative workflow. We hope to implement the request form and help add individual monographic open access titles campuses cataloged to the Alma Network Zone for wider access.
  • SCP staff worked with their colleagues in the Discovery and Delivery Program, the Shared Collections program, and the CDL Palace Project team to load the first batch of records to the production NZ collection Read via the Palace Project ebook pilot!, which currently is only available for UC Davis for a pilot study. In addition, SCP and D2D did follow-up work to improve record matches between Lyrasis-provided data and existing CZ-linked records in Alma in order to maximize the number of portfolios in the collection. SCP has also drafted a workflow document for future discussion with stakeholders.
  • Hindawi Publishing OA Journals: This collection has been removed from the NZ (Ex Libris is removing it from the CZ). The titles are already found in the Wiley Online Library Open Access collection in NZ. Hindawi journal URLs have been redirecting to their content at Wiley since they moved to the Wiley platform in June 2024.

Highlights on Other Activities:

  • JapanKnowledge Lib: ERT has reviewed titles in this CZ activated collection and found many duplicates with JKBooks and Add-ons we provided at Electronic collection level. We have replaced them with SCP cataloged titles. This collection in the NZ also now more accurately reflects the subscription for JapanKnowledge Library holdings.
  • PIDs maintenance: SCP catalogers have updated PIDs for Chinese resources that were triggered by CNPIEC purchases, Superstar platforms changing URLs with Secure Sockets Layer for two of its collections.
  • SCLG formed a “GOBI Cataloging Services Subscription Review Project Team” to review the systemwide subscription to GOBI Cataloging Services.. The team will review usage of the services, satisfaction with the records, alternate models, and any alternate cost sharing models, and will make recommendations to SCLG by May to implement with next year’s renewal. Jason Chodur, who has been managing CDL GOBI records, and Laura Fouladi from CDL Acquisitions will participate in the team representing CDL Shared Collections.

Report an Alma/Primo VE problem: This page outlines how and when campuses should report access issues to CDL. This page can be found under CDL’s Report a Problem page under “Report a SILS (Alma or Primo VE) Problem”.
