New Collections added and activated; collection level bib cataloging in progress:

  • With newly purchased Taylor & Francis eBooks,
    • Activated 19  new HSS 2024 ebooks collections by subject in September
    • Loaded 1800+ titles of 2024 frontlist to the Taylor & Francis eBooks (STMnetbase/CRC Press) 2021- collection in October; ongoing new titles will be added weekly.
  • New titles for ProQuest History Vault and Historical Newspapers from Access & Build Plan for FY24/25 were activated in September and in process of cataloging.
  • American Society of Civil Engineers ASCE E-books and Standards (2024-) was activated with portfolios cataloged in September
  • UMPEBC University of Michigan Press eBooks 2024 was activated in September
  • Royal Society of Chemistry eBook Collection 2024 was activated in September
  • EIU Viewpoint (Local-L) was activated and cataloged in September
  • Dai Kanwa jiten (大漢和辞典 Great Chinese-Japanese character dictionary) was activated and cataloged in September

Recent Transitions

Highlights on Open Access

  • Libros UNAM: Open Access: Individual title level cataloging is in progress.
  • Taylor & Francis eBooks Open Access: activated collection and portfolios in October.
  • American Physiological Society Free: activated collection and portfolios in October.
  • IOS Press online monographs: SCP has caught up with title level cataloging for OA titles in this collection.
  • Reminder: Requesting for cataloging new collections at CDL/SCP includes requests for activating full OA collections from the CZ. Requester is asked to provide CZ Collection ID.

Highlights on Other Activities:

  • JSTOR DDA Transition FAQ document was developed and will be distributed via various channels
  • IMF collection portfolio activation: CDL has activated the portfolios in this collection. Campuses who have locally activated the same collection may consider deactivating the locally activated collection to avoid duplicate entries displayed in UC Library Search.
  • JapanKnowledge JKBooks and Add-ons: These titles have been reviewed and recataloged at electronic collection level
  • Palace Project: SCP staff have been working with their colleagues in the Discovery and Delivery Program, the Shared Collections program, and the CDL Palace Project team to develop trial workflows for adding records to a Palace Project collection in the SILS network zone. The Palace Project is an app that allows patrons to read any publisher’s ebooks with just one app. An implementation pilot is scheduled for UC Davis users from October through December 2024.
