Highlights on Other Activities:

  • EBSCOhost Education Source: Journals have been cataloged and replaced if CZ has skimpy records; SCP worked with ExLibris and EBSCO to make many corrections between the indexes and individual journal home pages.
  • SCP Normalization Rule “SCP kgc change 035s to 936 as needed” updated: As part of RM cleanup local note in 590-599 in NZ, we found that some SCP records have 59X note that was came from CZ records after being merged by OCLC WorldCat records SCP cataloged. As a result, Kate Garvey-Clasby has updated the normalization rule to include 59X in the list of certain fields to be removed  when CZ records are being replaced either by SCP or campuses. The updated rule was tested in Sandbox first and updated in Production. Kate runs a job every Monday using this rule to clean up bib records that replaced CZ bib records.
  • SCP plans to stop using 930$g: Before migration, SCP used 930$g (formerly 793$g) to indicate the status for a serial in a serial package: code a=active, i=inactive, m=moving wall. After migration, serial coverages are recorded in portfolios; most CDL serials are CZ-managed bib records with CZ portfolios and don’t have SCP 930 field. An email has been sent to SCP-AC for members to ask for input on whether any campus still uses SCP 930$g for statistics purposes. Any reasons that we shouldn’t stop using 930$g?

Report an Alma/Primo VE problem: This page outlines how and when campuses should report access issues to CDL. This page can be found under CDL’s Report a Problem page under “Report a SILS (Alma or Primo VE) Problem”.
