Systemwide Library Planning Director
The Systemwide Library Planning (SLP) Director plays a key role in envisioning, positioning, and implementing policies and initiatives of strategic importance within the UC Libraries Advisory Structure, Systemwide Planning & Consultative Structure, and UC Office of the President. Systemwide initiatives are often the culmination of years of study, research, problem solving and consensus building amongst stakeholders to find the appropriate path for achieving systemic change and supporting the long-held aspirations of the collective UC Libraries.
In collaboration with UC Libraries leadership, the SLP Director assumes a vital role in overseeing the creation of plans and strategies that assist the libraries in achieving their common goals. In this capacity, the SLP Director partners with senior leadership within CDL, the UC campus libraries, and UCOP administration on the actions required to prepare, manage, and direct resources to support policies, initiatives, and organizational goals. The SLP Director represents the CDL on systemwide library committees and in systemwide discussions related to a diverse portfolio of planning and strategic initiatives. As the locus of strategic systemwide library planning activities, CDL partners with the campus libraries in achieving efficiencies that are possible only through shared decision-making, investment, and policy.
Reporting to CDL’s Associate Vice Provost/Executive Director (AVP/ED), and consulting within the UC Libraries’ ten-campus advisory structure, the Systemwide Library Planning Director is a member of the CDL senior leadership team.
Applicants who wish to work onsite in the UC Office of the President downtown Oakland offices, hybrid, or remotely from within the state of California will be considered.
