Oxford Ebooks migrate to Oxford Academic platform

In July 2022, Oxford research books collections will move to the Oxford Academic platform (https://academic.oup.com/). This means that books will be available alongside journals in a single place for the first time.  The Oxford Academic platform will be familiar to users already, through UC access to journals on this platform.

With this migration, books from Oxford Scholarship Online, University Press Scholarship Online, Oxford Handbooks Online, Very Short Introductions, Oxford Medicine Online, and Oxford Clinical Psychology, as well as the AMA Manual of Style, will migrate to Oxford Academic on July 14, 2022. For a brief window, content will have dual access on their legacy platforms and the Oxford Academic platform (1-2 weeks in July depending on the resource), before redirects will be in place going forward directing users to the Oxford Academic platform. CDL is monitoring changes to the content managed in the Alma Network Zone, including various resources on these platforms: Oxford Scholarship Online, Oxford Handbooks Online, AMA Manual of Style, and Oxford Medicine.

It is important to note that not all Oxford University Press content is migrating to the Oxford Academic platform. Only the resources listed above.

Item of Note:

How will this impact users with personal accounts and saved searches?

Personal accounts and saved searches won’t be carried over from the current online products. Users will have to sign up for an Oxford Academic account to save content and searches for future visits.
