Welcome Satomi Saito

Please join me in welcoming Satomi Saito to the California Digital Library! Satomi joins the CDL Finance & Operations team as a Senior Financial Analyst, beginning March 1, 2022. Before joining the CDL, Satomi worked with the UC San Diego Library, where, in her role as Library Collections Fiscal Management Division Head, she directed the daily operations of the library collections fiscal management staff. While at the library, she was a member of the Library Diversity and Inclusion Committee (2014-2019, FY16/17 Co-Chair) and a contributor to several working groups. Before joining the UCSD Library, Satomi spent several years on the staff at the UCSD NanoEngineering Department, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department. 

While at UCSD, Satomi was selected as a LEAD (Leaders for Equity Advancement and Diversity) Fellow  and was a member of the AY 2018/19 Fellows cohort and the AY2019/20 Fellows Academy cohort, charged with supporting campus equity, diversity and inclusion efforts.

Satomi was born and raised in Fukushima, Japan. One of her many passions is classical music, and she is a member of the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus, where she is an assistant section leader and volunteers at fundraising events.
