Shared Print Registration Webinar Recordings Now Available

The Partnership for Shared Book Collections and the Rosemont Shared Print Alliance co-sponsored a two-part webinar series on the new OCLC Shared Print Registration Service on Wednesday February 17 and Friday February 19. The first session focused on the different options available to retention libraries for registering their commitments through the new service (preparing and uploading a CSV file or submitting a file of records for MARC processing), and the benefits and considerations for each method. The second session focused on maintaining records after registration and how to discover shared print retentions in OCLC products.

The recordings and presentation slides for both sessions are now available on the Partnership’s website: https://sharedprint.org/2021/01/20/webinars-on-working-with-shared-print-in-oclc. All Archive Holders and Archive Builders are strongly encouraged to review both sessions, as they contain information to help guide you in selecting which registration will work best for your institution. Non-Archive Holders are also encouraged to review the recordings, as the new process lowers the barrier to serving as a retention library for WEST by removing the need to establish a second OCLC symbol for shared print, and also contains valuable information about discovering shared print commitments at partner institutions.

Please reach out to Anna Striker (anna.striker@ucop.edu) with any questions about the new registration service.
