CRL metadata validation reports for PAPR disclosures available

In consultation with WEST, the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) Print Archives Preservation Registry (PAPR) Team is providing new metadata error reports for WEST members’ optional review and action. These reports provide an overview of the metadata provided to PAPR for each institution and flag any validation or loading issues. The WEST team has shared the reports directly with the technical contacts at the institutions that submitted disclosure files in 2019. CRL has provided a glossary to explain the categories for review, which can also serve as a guide for data preparation during the next disclosure period or for metadata cleanup projects for Technical Services staff during this period of extended library closures.

These reports are being shared purely for informational purposes, for institutions to take action as they desire and are able. Any records that were not loaded into PAPR for metadata reasons can be reloaded after correction, either as a small set after updates are completed or as part of your next disclosure file.
