Eric Lopatin joins CDL as UC3’s new Product Manager
We are excited to have Eric Lopatin join us as UC3’s new Product Manager. Eric brings with him a long-standing appreciation for software quality, UX prototyping, and technical workflows which stem from prior roles at Amazon Music, Adobe Systems, Inc, and Public Library of Science (PLOS).
For the last several years, Eric has worked at PLOS, most recently in the role of Product Manager for a development team whose primary purpose was to help bolster editorial efficiency. In this role, Eric worked to build synergy between the editorial staff of PLOS ONE and the development organization, while pursuing new solutions and augmenting existing applications.
Eric’s previous work at Adobe was on the Flex SDK. This earlier focus on shared technology across Adobe’s creative suite of applications served to increase his interests in how users engage with software on multiple levels, thus spurring him toward his current product management career track.
Eric received his Master of Science degree in Graphic Arts Publishing, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, NY.
In his new role at CDL, Eric will be leading the product development of our Merritt digital preservation repository and other digital preservation-related projects.
Eric lives with his wife and ten-year-old daughter in Berkeley. He enjoys cycling, attending folk music festivals, and is always on the lookout for windless mornings, during which he tends to fly small, electric planes with two feet planted on the ground.
Welcome Eric!
