Project MUSE launches redesigned platform

Today (June 14, 2018), Project MUSE released its newly-redesigned web presence. This is an interface change only, no changes to URLs or landing pages.

Project Muse PID is http://uclibs.org/PID/31861.

Per the announcement, “This launch is a redesign and re-engineering of MUSE’s proprietary platform; the URL structure for all book and journal content in MUSE will remain the same and there will be no need for redirects or updates to DOI links, no impact on institutional usage statistics, nor any need to update proxy configurations. The informational part of the site, with details on acquiring MUSE products, resources for participating publishers and libraries, and other organizational materials, has also been redesigned, but any key links that our customers may have bookmarked here will be redirected as needed.”

New Features:  Among the new features now available are…

  • The option for a personalized “My MUSE” account, allowing users to save searches, create a library of their favorite MUSE materials, generate citations, and search within their personal library,
  • Content footnotes and references presented “in-line” with the associated text in a journal article or book chapter,
  • A streamlined search experience with additional facets for book series and thematic journal issues,
  • And, a highly responsive design to meet a variety of device options.
