Melvyl transition to WorldCat Discovery is delayed (again)

Melvyl will not transition from WorldCat Local (WCL) to WorldCat Discovery (WCD) this summer. The CDL Melvyl Operations Team is currently working with OCLC to resolve a technical problem that is affecting resource sharing. In order to isolate the problem and fix, we prefer to stay in our current environment, WCL.

CDL aims to provide three months advance notice to campuses to prepare for the transition from WCL to WCD; therefore, we have run out of time to make a switch to WCD this summer. Currently, we do not have an estimate for a future transition date.

In the meantime, we will continue to monitor the progress of WCD and we encourage staff to test WCD and report any problems to melvylops@cdlib.org. You will find the URL for your campus on the web page below.
