Barbara Cormack Joins D2D
Barbara Cormack joins the Discovery & Delivery (D2D) group this Thursday, June 1st as a metadata analyst. Barbara will be working on Zephir, the HathiTrust metadata management system, as well as on other metadata-intensive projects. Barbara brings deep experience and enthusiasm for working with metadata and library systems so we are thrilled to bring her on board!
Barbara originally planned an academic career in medieval studies but when fate led her to a position working for a library automation project at the State University of New York, she decided to pursue librarianship instead. She has worked extensively with library software, implementing systems in a variety of libraries, but her special love is library data in its many forms. Memorable career moments have included traveling to Sweden and France to deliver specialized data loading training, and conducting the Halloween costume contest and festivities at one of her work places. In her spare time, Barbara can be found performing Scottish Highland Dance at local Scottish games and events, making jewelry, and perfecting her baking skills.
