Termination of CiNii Institutional Fixed-Price Service; most content moving to Open Access

While the CiNii Institutional Fixed-Price Service was terminated in March 2017, the CiNii search interface will continue to be available at its current location (https://ci.nii.ac.jp/).  Outbound linking from the CiNii search interface to content will be handled exclusively by CiNii’s content links; there will be no UC-eLinks within the interface.

The CiNii Full Text Journal Directory will be terminated.

Most of the content previously hosted on the CiNii platform is being migrated to different Open Access platforms. A full list of titles and their target platforms is available at https://support.nii.ac.jp/en/news/cinii/20170220. Titles with a status of TBD (移行先未定), Other (その他), and Do Not Migrate (移行しない) are all at the discretion of the associated Academic Society. Any titles marked as “Do Not Migrate” may eventually result in self-hosting by the associated Academic Society but this is not yet confirmed.

The strategy for updated title-level cataloging and UC-eLinks activation is being coordinated between CDL and the Resource Liaison for CiNii, Toshie Marra (UCB). Please contact Toshie with any questions.
