CDL Opening for Shared Print Operations and Collections Analyst

The California Digital Library seeks a Shared Print Operations and Collections analyst to coordinate existing and emerging shared print initiatives among the University of California Libraries and other extramural partners, including the Western Regional Storage Trust (WEST).

Shared print is a collaborative effort of the ten campuses of the University of California and other academic libraries to enable the libraries to meet the information needs of faculty and students in the 21st century through efficient acquisition, sharing and restructuring of physical collections. The Shared Print program assumes a leadership role in planning sustainable cooperative collection development and management initiatives for print collections. The program guides and provides focus for the libraries in formulating strategies, policies and operational approaches to managing physical research collections in a digital age.

Reporting to and working closely with the Shared Print Manager, the successful candidate will have a passion for facilitating cooperative collection management initiatives among libraries. The successful candidate analyzes collections, and works with data, collections officers, and many librarians to propose and facilitate retention and other collection management decisions. S/he is an excellent communicator, capable of guiding groups in complex technical and cross-institutional issues to arrive at common practices. S/he serves as a main operational contact for shared print projects among many libraries and storage facilities.
