‘Libraries and the Semantic Web’ is one of the new titles available in Synthesis Collection 6.

Morgan & Claypool (M&C) Publishers has two fulltext series of short books acquired as a Tier 2 purchase.   The Synthesis Series (http://www.morganclaypool.com/page/browseLbS.jsp) currently has completed its sixth collection and includes a total of 46 series in Collections 1-6 that span a wide range of thematic content in computer science and many areas of electrical, biomedical and general engineering applications. The participating campuses include Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, San Diego, and Santa Barbara.

The second series is the Colloquium Digital Library of the Life Sciences which spans biological, genetic and biomedical subjects as reflected in 17 different series.  Colloquium 1-2 collections (http://www.morganclaypool.com/page/lifesci#series) are now fully available. The following campuses are participating in this resource: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, San Diego, San Francisco, and Santa Barbara.

Records for individual titles in all completed series have been activated and distributed to the campus catalogs and as others become available they will be added.  These M&C resources, edited and authored by leading scientists in their fields, are more expansive than a journal article, but not as exhaustive as a reference work and can be used to enhance understanding, support coursework and learn about developing areas.

For more information about the Morgan & Claypool series, both available and forthcoming, please contact the Resource Liaison, Julia Gelfand (jgelfand@uci.edu).
