New Resources Available

a. Dekker Encyclopedias

Nearly all UC campuses are participating in the online Dekker Encyclopedia project via a voluntary Tier 2 program.

The publisher, Marcel Dekker, has been issuing encyclopedias in print for many years.  This year, UC campuses that chose to participate will obtain online access without committing to the print version or to supplement existing print holdings with the online version and updates.  Perpetual licensing of these products and shared cataloging for the titles selected by three or more campuses is now underway.

Fourteen titles in the disciplines of agriculture, chemistry, engineering, medicine, pharmacy and pharmacology, public administration, statistics, and library/information science are now available.  Seven new titles are being released over the next few months.

Online access allows for full text searching and browsing from the table of contents or index, and full page copying. Descriptions of the encyclopedias can be found at: http://www.dekker.com
