UC HathiTrust Update

By Heather Christenson, CDL HathiTrust Project Manager

HathiTrust has released an update that summarizes activities and work during the month of September 2010.

UC continues to make substantial contributions to this collaborative effort.  Some highlights of the UC Libraries’ involvement:

  • UC staff attended a HathiTrust gathering in Chicago on September 23 and 24 for meetings of HathiTrust’s governing committees, operational and planning working groups, and teams working on specific projects.
  • Close to 40,000 UC volumes were added to HathiTrust during the month of September.
  • CDL has begun planning for the development of a new HathiTrust Metadata Management
Service to be developed, hosted and implemented in California.
  • Six HathiTrust partners running SFX link resolver software have already requested the HathiTrust target developed by UC programmers. The target was developed as a proof-of-concept and currently supports the simple use case, single volume book in the public domain.

More details on recent HathiTrust activities can be found in the Update on September Activities.
