UC Curation Center (UC3) Staff Update
Becky Grady and Adam Buttrick, two of UC3’s amazing service managers, have departed CDL on October 30, 2026. They joined our team around the same time and, as it happens, have left at the same time.
Adam Buttrick: Adam brought extensive experience in the PID world and jumped right in, playing a major role in getting the COMET project off the ground, scaling ROR’s curation process, and becoming a respected thought leader in the PID community. He is a tireless worker with deep knowledge and a real commitment to the work. After CDL, Adam will be moving to Japan. He has already lined up a new job there with DataCite, so we’re happy to know he’ll still be a close collaborator!
Becky Grady: Becky made a significant impact on both the DMP Tool team and the broader research data management community. She joined us with a UX background, helped grow the development team, and took on the DMP Tool rebuild. She also co-chaired an international working group developing a standard API for machine-actionable DMPs, and became a leader among the DMP tool builders. She is leaving to take some personal time. As I know many of you have experienced firsthand, she is a thoughtful, enthusiastic colleague who has strengthened the whole team.
The UC3 team has been lucky to work with both Becky and Adam. We are truly sad to see them go, but wish them all the very best! If you’d like to hear more, they both wrote reflections: Becky’s and Adam’s.
