A Superuser Librarian’s Thoughts on HathiTrust; Confessions of a Metadata Analyst; & 1930 Public Domain Titles – UC Libraries HathiTrust Help Center Newsletter Now Posted!

The latest UC Libraries HathiTrust Help Center Newsletter features 3 new articles, including:
Marie Concannon, the award winning librarian and creator of the popular Prices and Wages by Decade libguide, shares her Thoughts on HathiTrust which includes tips for making the best use of HathiTrust and her ideas for how it might be improved. CDL’s own Barbara Cormack, who retired in January, discusses her long and adventurous career in the final Dear Zephir column. We also feature a handful of newly opened titles from 1930 that became public domain via the annual public domain expansion on January first.
In addition to the new articles, the newsletter includes a link to the recently published report by the Collaborative Pilot on Intentional Collection Building which found that intentional collection building across HathiTrust membership is achievable. And it includes a vigorous thank you to our colleagues at UC Berkeley who collaborated to get the 1930 first edition of As I Lay Dying digitized and deposited into HathiTrust where it can now be read by people around the world!
