CDL welcomes Adam Buttrick!
We are thrilled to share that we have a new Senior Product Manager for Persistent Identifiers, Adam Buttrick. Adam brings deep expertise and experience in the PID field, and we’re delighted to have him on the UC3 team!
Adam is a librarian and developer based in Los Angeles. For the past two years, he has served as the Metadata Curation Lead for the Research Organization Registry (ROR) and as an R&D analyst at Crossref. He previously worked as a data developer for the Getty Conservation Institute, an implementation manager for OCLC’s Metadata Services, and for the University of Michigan’s Art, Architecture, and Engineering Library.
Adam has an extensive background in product development, open research infrastructure, and community engagement. At Crossref, he worked closely with CDL and led Metadata Curation for ROR, guiding policy and improving processes. His work included driving adoption and establishing best practices for persistent identifiers in collaboration with global and national-level PID providers and developing ROR’s curation infrastructure. Additionally, Adam worked to improve ROR’s data pipeline by integrating machine learning technologies, developing matching strategies for ROR IDs, and designing open data monitoring tools.
Adam’s deep knowledge of PIDs makes him a great addition to our team, and we are excited to see his impact in the PID space.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys making miso soup and playing the drums badly.
Adam’s first day was May 20. Please join us in welcoming Adam to the team!
