Welcome Erin Winter, new part-time Application Programmer on the PAD team
We are delighted to announce that Erin Winter has joined the Publishing, Archives, and Digitization group as a part-time Application Programmer, starting November 15, 2021. Erin will be working closely with the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory on Open Access and OSTI reporting related projects. Erin will be part of a team that is responsible for the design and maintenance of a diverse portfolio of web-based applications and services that support the publishing, research, and learning activities of UC faculty, students, staff, and the general public. Working with product managers, the tech lead, other developers, and campus partners, Erin will assess and implement external tools and platforms, develop new features for existing services, analyze and fix bugs that occur on production systems, and take ownership of the operations for specific components of our systems. She will report to Mahjabeen Yucekul.
Erin Winter, formerly an applications programmer for a software engineering analysis project at the Computer Science department of the University of California Davis, is now a part-time MLIS student at the University of North Carolina and an aspiring academic librarian. She has programmed, prepared raw data, and performed analysis for research projects at UC Davis, Google, and UW-Madison. Before enrolling at UNC, Erin worked as a software engineer specializing in applied machine learning projects at Google. She has an MS in Computer Science from UW-Madison as well as a BA in Computer Science and English from Carleton College.
Erin loves hiking, biking, playing board games, and baking for her friends. She has a gentle, old basset hound named Cleo who enjoys meeting new people even more than she does.
Please join us in welcoming Erin to the PAD team!
