Recent Enhancements, News, and Activities

  • Roadmap update. We’re making progress toward our target release date in early 2018. You can track our progress here. We’re also testing the DMPTool data migration to the new platform and working with our UX team to brand the new version. Both of these tasks involve manual curation of templates, guidance, user guides, and other content. With the gracious assistance of CDL and UC libraries staff (and fueled by pizza), we will begin a thorough audit of funder templates in a few weeks to make sure everything is accurate and up-to-date. Once the templates and new content are in order, we’ll prepare a webinar or two to orient institutional admins to the new platform. More details to come on the blog.
  • Machine-actionable DMPs. Community engagement on this topic remains high; thanks to everyone for banding together to move things along! Our latest stops on the tour included a FAIR DMPs session at Force2017 focused on defining principles for machine-actionable DMPs (slides, notes) and the AGU FAIR Data Stakeholders meeting (more info about that grant-funded project for earth and space science domains here). We’re also moving forward with plans for the NSF EAGER grant, starting with a workshop at Purdue University tentatively scheduled for Jan 2018 (blogs to come). The RDA working groups are chugging along (DMP Common Standards; Exposing DMPs)—join the listservs to get involved and mark your calendars for upcoming activities at the RDA plenary in Berlin (21-23 Mar). You can always contact us to get involved.
  • DMPTool Street Team. Another shout out to the DMPTool Steering Committee members and engaged admins who are helping to spread the word about machine-actionable DMPs. Keep your eyes peeled for postcard and sticker swag at upcoming events: IDCC2018, UC DLF, RDA
