EZID Service Update: February 2015

Recent Enhancements, News, and Activities

• EZID implemented a new feature called “batch download” that allows clients to download a copy of all or some of their identifiers and descriptive information (i.e. metadata) in a big “batch”. Initially, the feature is available only via EZID’s application programming interface (API). The full story is at CDLINFO News: http://cdlib.org/2015/02/17/ezid-introduces-a-batch-download-feature/.
  Batch download represents a major opportunity for clients to gain control over their identifiers. The download will retrieve a file in one of several formats suitable for analysis in common tools, such as CSV (comma separated value), XML (extensible markup language), and ANVL (a name-value language). We believe batch download will enable new opportunities for you to manage your identifiers and metadata.

EZID Service Description

EZID (easy-eye-dee) is a production service that gives researchers the ability to create and manage long-term identifiers so that they can to track usage, get credit for their work, share their data, and have the data reused for additional research. As a result, EZID identifiers also make it possible to increase citations, to build on previous work, to conduct new research, and avoid duplicating previous efforts.
