Phase 2 Changes to WEST Program Management
We are pleased to announce some changes to WEST program management as WEST enters into its next 3-year phase (Phase 2). Beginning in October 2013, Emily Stambaugh will serve as WEST’s Program Manager, Lizanne Payne will serve as Planning and Systems Consultant, and Danielle Watters Westbrook will continue to serve as WEST’s Collections Analyst.
We have been very fortunate to have Lizanne as our fearless leader over the past few years. She has been a consummate diplomat, skilled program manager, and technical expert. We couldn’t have hoped for a better leader to guide WEST’s startup. Lizanne will continue to work with WEST in a consulting capacity on strategic planning and to develop requirements for additional systems functions for WEST. Lizanne will continue to participate on WEST governance committees.
We are very fortunate to invite Emily Stambaugh to be Program Manager for WEST. She has served as the Assistant Project Manager for WEST during the early planning and startup phases. Emily will assume primary responsibility for strategic planning and assessment, business and collections model reviews, and member participation. She will coordinate WEST’s governance committees and administer WEST’s financial obligations, communications and member relations.
And as previously announced, Danielle Watters Westbrook joined the California Digital Library in July and will continue to serve part-time as WEST’s Collections Analyst. Danielle comes to us from the University of British Columbia with a strong background in collections, serials management, analysis, database development and communications in large academic libraries.
We are very confident that this change will ensure continuity and stability for WEST. As always, Emily, Lizanne and Danielle can be reached by email at emily.stambaugh@ucop.edu, lizannepayne03@gmail.com, danielle.westbrook@ucop.edu.
