Matt Winfield joins CDL’s Publishing Group

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, Matthew Winfield became the Publishing Group’s new eScholarship Operations Coordinator.  Matt comes to us from UC Press, where he was, most recently, an Assistant Editor with the Science Publishing Group.  In addition to his much lauded work as a project manager and author liaison there, Matt was also a key player in organization-wide efforts to standardize policies and procedures around permissions, image management and the development of and training for the Press’s new intranet.

In his new role, Matt will be shepherding eScholarship Repository operations both internally and as a new first responder to UC’s scholarly publishing community.  He joins the team at an exciting time, as we begin to plumb the depths of our data and understanding of faculty publishing behavior in the service of creating a new, far more robust and relevant access interface for eScholarship.
