New video resource introducing Calisphere!

We are thrilled to announce a new video resource that demonstrates the breadth of Calisphere, a publicly available digital resource developed and maintained by the University of California.

Calisphere is your gateway to California’s remarkable digital collections, with access to unique and historically important artifacts–nearly two million digital primary resource items–from over 300 cultural heritage organizations, including public libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, and many more throughout the state. A public service of the University of California, developed by the California Digital Library, Calisphere is committed to providing free access to historical resources for research, teaching, and curious exploration.

This brief video is intended to introduce Calisphere, as well as the significance of primary sources, to your communities of researchers, educators, students, colleagues, and other lifelong learners. We invite you to use and share this resource in a variety of ways, through instruction, training, and outreach. Please feel free to share the video through your website, instructional guide, or other resources using this embeddable code.

Share your story

We’d also appreciate hearing from you! How do you use Calisphere? We’d love to hear your stories and ideas so that we can create additional resources to support the use of Calisphere–so do let us know! Please feel free to contact us at oacops@cdlib.org with any questions, feedback, ideas, or stories.

Thank you

We’d like to thank our colleagues at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library, Oakland Public Library, Palos Verde Library District, South Pasadena Public Library, and Watsonville Public Library for providing ideas and early feedback in developing this video, along with our colleagues at the University of California Libraries.
