Disclosure and Validation Standards Working Group (charge complete)
The DVS Working Group was formed based on the 2019 Strategic Recommendation to “review and revise as necessary the WEST Disclosure Policy and Validation Standards.” This group is charged to “review and propose appropriate updates to the WEST Disclosure Policy and the WEST Standards for Issue and Volume Level Validation, taking into account existing and emerging shared print disclosure methods, outlets, and requirements, and referencing validation standards developed by peer organizations and shared print federations.” This group reports to the WEST Operations and Collections Council.

Non-journal Formats Working Group
The NjF Working Group was formed based on the 2019 Strategic Recommendation to “take up the question of expanding WEST’s scope to include non-journal formats (analog or digital) and/or to collaborate with nonjournal shared print programs.” This group is charged to “investigate areas of expansion in WEST’s collection scope, giving preference to opportunities to collaborate with existing projects or programs…avoiding any replication of existing programs.” This group reports to the WEST Executive Committee.

Resource Sharing Working Group (charge complete)
The RS Working Group was formed based on the 2019 Strategic Recommendation to “review and revise, as necessary, the WEST borrowing and lending documentation and lending statistics reporting practices.” This group is charged to “review and propose updates to existing Access Guidelines, Lending Instructions, and Borrowing Instructions, taking into account existing and emerging shared print infrastructures and interlibrary loan operations.” This group reports to the WEST Operations and Collections Council.

Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles Working Group (charge complete)
The Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles Working Group was formed in 2021 to carry out the 2019 Strategic Recommendation to “develop a distinct vision statement, mission, and guiding principles that acknowledge WEST‘s regionality and highlight its commitment to collaboration at the network level.” The group completed its work in 2021, when the WEST Vision Statement, Mission, and Guiding Principles were endorsed by the WEST membership.
