WEST Pilots and Projects
In addition to collaboratively developing, managing, and coordinating the identification, retention, and registration of a shared, distributed collection of print content across libraries, WEST also engages in various pilots and projects to investigate emerging opportunities to support this work.
Currently, the WEST Project Team and WEST members are engaged in the following pilots and projects:
ASU Gap Filling Pilot
This pilot project is intended to both increase the completeness of select medium and high risk level (formerly referred to as Silver and Gold) archived titles at ASU through backfile extension and additional gap filling, and gain insight into key questions about the overall value and viability of a dedicated gap-filling project in WEST.

WEST Internet Archive Pilot
In this pilot, WEST will test the feasibility and benefit of coordinating the donation of extra copies of WEST archived serials titles to the Internet Archive for digitization and ongoing access via RapidILL. The pilot will capitalize on analytics tools that WEST libraries have invested in and the power of the WEST network of libraries.
