UC Shared DAMS (Nuxeo) and ArchivesSpace
Collection Management Systems
The CDL hosts two collection management systems, Nuxeo and ArchivesSpace, to support the UC Libraries with stewardship of unique primary source collections.
Nuxeo is a digital asset management system (or DAMS) hosted by the CDL, for use by the UC Libraries and designated affiliates to create and manage object-level metadata and content files (such as images, texts, audio, and video). Nuxeo also supports workflows for publishing digital objects to Calisphere, for access, and for depositing digital objects into Merritt, for preservation.
ArchivesSpace is an archival collection management system hosted by the CDL, for use by the UC Libraries and UC campus department libraries, archives, and museums to maintain information about archival holdings. It can also be used to create collection guides or “finding aids,” which can be subsequently published in the Online Archive of California (OAC).
