Background

Chris is an interdisciplinary technologist who enjoys solving curious problems. He has spent much of his career working in journalism, at publications including the Chicago Tribune, NPR, and FiveThirtyEight. Prior to joining CDL, Chris spent two years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where he led a team developing data-driven products to empower the public to make informed health decisions.

Chris is a omnivorous reader, small-dollar art collector, amateur historian, family genealogist, mediocre ukulele player, and occasional plastic rock climber. Chris lives in Oakland, California with his wife and two kids. Last year they checked out more than 800 books from the Oakland Public Library.
