UC San Francisco Registration Instructions for SciFinder

(Access restricted to UC San Francisco students, faculty, and staff)

To register, you will need to supply the following:

*Current campus email address ending in “ucsf.edu”. If your preferred email provider is Gmail, for example, you will need to setup forwarding from your current campus email address to your Gmail account.

*User name: Must be 5-15 characters and contain at least one letter. It must start with a letter or number, but may include numbers, dashes, underscores, periods, or @.

*Password: Must contain 7-15 characters and include at least three of the following:

  • Letters
  • Mixed upper- and lowercase letters
  • Numbers
  • Non-alphanumeric characters (e.g., @,#,%,&,*)
