How to Get a Melvyl Staff Account
OCLC introduced staff accounts for WorldCat Discovery in June 2014. With a Melvyl staff account, campus library staff can view MARC records, view the OCLC# on the brief record display, and search by library holding symbol. Further staff account features are anticipated.
1. Locate your campus Melvyl Staff Account Contact on the Melvyl Operations Liaison roster
2. Email your contact a request for a “WorldCat Discovery/Melvyl staff account” and provide:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your existing username if you already have an account (this will most likely apply to ILL staff)
3. Use your new staff account in WorldCat Discovery.
For CDL or UCOP staff:
Contact the Melvyl Operations team to request a staff account on the non-campus-specific version of Melvyl (https://uc.on.worldcat.org/v2) .
